Here are the safety measures we are taking to protect your child:
COVID-19 FAQ’s
The center is increasing the frequency of cleaning all toys, equipment, and surfaces throughout the day. Additionally, we will disinfect all high-touch surfaces, such as door handles, light switches, faucets, toilet seats and handles routinely. Toys that cannot be washed, will not be used.
If feasible, children 2 years or older shall be encouraged but are not required to wear cloth face coverings within the center. If you send in a mask for your child, please label it with their name. Parents are advised to teach and reinforce the use of cloth face coverings with their children.
Children shall practice frequent hand washing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. They are required to wash their hands upon arriving at the center, when entering the classroom, before and after meals or snacks, after outside time, after going to the bathroom, and prior to leaving for home.
Upon arrival, your child will have their temperature taken by a staff member at the lobby window. Parents will be asked questions about their child’s current state of health and the health of their family, any close contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19. Any child who has taken any fever reducing medicine (Tylenol, Advil, Motrin) for any reason i.e. teething, in the last 24 hours will not be allowed to enter the facility for the day.
Our staff will follow the same daily protocol as children in order to enter the building
In order to minimize group sizes and movement, classrooms/groupings shall not exceed 10 children and interactions between groups must be limited. Classes shall include the same group of children each day and the same staff member(s) shall be assigned to care for each group. Groups shall not congregate no less than 10 feet in all directions from other groups.
Children who start to experience symptoms of respiratory illness, including a fever of 100.4 or above and symptoms of other infectious illnesses while at OTR will be isolated from other children until they can be picked up.
Any confirmed or suspected exposure to COVID-19 occurring in the center will be immediately reported to The Burlington County Health Department and DCF. Health officials will provide direction on whether the center should cease operations following the identification of a positive case in the facility as well as how the facility should be cleaned and disinfected in accordance with CDC guidelines.
If any staff member or child contracts or is exposed to COVID-19, they cannot be admitted to the center until the criteria for lifting transmission-based precautions and home isolation have been met.
